This musical partnership began over five years ago when Mobley began frequently sitting in with Andy Johnson’s band, and soon the two began booking duo shows all around the southeast.
Johnson fronts the southern funk band Royal Johnson, based in Macon, and Mobley backs R&B legend Robert Lee Coleman, among others. He recently won the Big Bend Blues Society’s Southeastern Harmonica Championship.
Dos Blues Guys had the recent honor of opening the 2016 GABBAfest at Macon’s historic Douglass Theatre, opening for Marcus King Band and Robert Lee Coleman and the Night Owls. They also recently opened a stellar show in Atlanta that featured the likes of Coy Bowles (Zach Brown Band), Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke) and Peter Stroud (Cheryl Crow). The duo just released its debut album, Banditos, recorded at Mid-Night Circus Studios in Buford. DBG enlisted percussionist Dallas Dawson on the album and has begun incorporating percussionists into their live show, beefing up the sound. A digital release of the single “Chicken Hotdog” was released in January, and is available on iTunes, Spotify, CD Baby and several other digital partners.
